International Bra Size Conversion Chart

Bra sizes combine a band (underbust) and a cup (bust minus underbust), and both parts change between countries. US and UK bands are in inches (32, 34, 36); EU bands are underbust in centimetres rounded to 5 (70, 75, 80); France and Spain add 15 to the EU number (85, 90, 95); Australia uses the UK band minus 2 dress-size style numbers (10, 12, 14). Japan and Korea use the EU centimetre band with their own cup letters.

Cups are where most conversions go wrong. US cups go A, B, C, D, DD, DDD, G; UK cups go A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, G; EU cups go A, B, C, D, E, F, G. A US DDD is a UK E and an EU F. To measure, take a snug underbust in centimetres and a loose bust at the fullest point. The difference in cm divided by 2.5 gives the cup steps: 13 cm is about a D cup in most systems. Band sizes should be tight on the loosest hook when new.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a US 34C in UK, EU and Japanese sizes?

US 34C is UK 34C, EU 75C, French 90C, Australian 12C, Japanese C75 and Korean 75C. Band 34 in equals roughly 75 cm underbust; the C cup indicates a bust about 7.5 cm larger than the band.

How do I measure my bra size at home?

Measure underbust snugly in cm and round to the nearest even number for a US/UK band (divide by 2.54) or nearest 5 for EU. Measure bust loosely at the fullest point. Each 2.5 cm of difference is one cup: 12.5 to 15 cm is D.

Why is a US DD different from a UK DD?

They are actually the same, but the letters diverge after that. US goes DDD then G; UK goes E, F, FF, G. So US DDD is UK E, US G is UK F, and a UK G is around US H. EU F equals UK E.

Can I use sister sizes if my size is out of stock?

Yes. Go up one band and down one cup, or down one band and up one cup, and the cup volume stays the same: 34C, 32D and 36B are sister sizes. Fit at the band will differ, so use this only when between sizes.
