Women's Shoe Size Conversion Chart
Women's shoe sizing has the widest gap between systems. A US women's 7 is a UK 5, an EU 37.5 to 38, a Korean 240 mm and a Japanese 24 cm. The two-number gap between US and UK trips up many overseas shoppers, and EU rounding varies by brand by up to a full size. Our chart is anchored to foot length in millimetres so every column can be checked against a ruler rather than another label.
Measure both feet in the evening and use the longer one; a 3 to 5 mm difference between feet is normal. For heels and flats, add about 5 mm to your foot length; for sneakers add 8 to 10 mm. Narrow or wide feet matter as much as length: US sizes offer widths from AA to EE, while most EU and Asian brands sell a single medium width, so a wide foot may need to size up half a step in those systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a US women's 8 in EU and UK?▾
US women's 8 is UK 6, EU 38.5 to 39, Korean 250 mm and Japanese 25 cm. Zara labels this as EU 39; Nike as EU 39 with a 25 cm insole.
How do I convert women's to men's shoe sizes?▾
Subtract 1.5 from the US women's size: a women's 9 is roughly a men's 7.5. In Korea and Japan no conversion is needed because both use foot length; a 255 mm foot is 255 mm regardless of gender.
Do heels need a different size than sneakers?▾
Usually half a size smaller. Heels push the foot forward, so a snug length fit prevents sliding. Sneakers need extra toe room, about 10 mm, so the same foot might wear EU 38 in pumps and EU 38.5 to 39 in trainers.
What does 'B' or 'M' mean next to a US women's size?▾
It is the width. B (medium) is the standard women's width, about 84 mm across the ball for size 7. C/D is wide, AA/N is narrow. European and Korean shoes are typically made to a B/C equivalent.
