Women's Clothing Size Conversion Chart
Women's sizing is the least standardised area in fashion. US sizes run 0 to 16, UK sizes are two numbers higher (US 6 is UK 10), EU sizes add roughly 32 (US 6 is EU 38), and Italy adds another 4 on top (IT 42). Korea uses 44, 55, 66, 77 and 88, where 55 roughly matches a US 4 to 6 or 160 cm height with an 85 cm bust. Japan uses odd numbers 7, 9, 11, 13 tied to bust and height.
Our chart anchors every label to bust, waist and hip in centimetres, which is the only way to compare across systems. Take the bust at the fullest point wearing a non-padded bra, the waist at the natural narrowest, and the hips at the widest point around the seat. Korean and Japanese brands cut 2 to 4 cm shorter through the torso and arms, so shoppers over 170 cm should check garment length in the product listing rather than trust the letter size.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Korean size 55 in US and EU?▾
Korean 55 corresponds to a bust of about 85 cm and a waist of 66 to 68 cm, which is US 4 to 6, UK 8 to 10, EU 36 to 38, Japanese 9. Korean 66 is US 8 to 10 and 44 is US 0 to 2.
How do UK and US women's sizes differ?▾
UK numbers are US plus 4: US 8 is UK 12. Both use even numbers. Note that a UK 12 has a bust of about 92 cm, while a US 8 is 89 to 91 cm, so UK sizing runs a touch larger.
What does Japanese size 9 mean?▾
Japanese 9 (also written 9AR) fits a bust of 83 cm, waist 64 cm, hip 91 cm and height 158 cm. It is equivalent to US 4, UK 8, EU 36 and Korean 55. Size 11 is one step up, about US 6 to 8.
Why do EU sizes vary between France, Italy and Germany?▾
France and Germany share the 34 to 46 scale, but Italy adds 4 (FR 38 is IT 42) and Spain sometimes adds 2. A US 6 is therefore FR/DE 38, IT 42 and ES 40.
