Men's Shoe Size Conversion Chart
Men's shoe sizes differ by about one full number between the US and UK (US 10 is UK 9) and by roughly 33 numbers to Europe (US 10 is EU 44). Korea and Japan skip labels entirely and print foot length: 280 mm in Korea, 28 cm in Japan. Because each system rounds differently, a direct US-to-EU table can be off by a half size at the edges, which is why our chart lists the foot length every size was derived from.
To use the chart, measure your foot length standing on paper, heel against a wall, and mark the longest toe. Add 5 to 10 mm for toe room, then find that value in the mm column. Sneakers generally need the full 10 mm; dress shoes and loafers closer to 5 mm. If you fall between sizes, most men size up for running shoes and down for leather shoes that stretch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a US men's 9 in UK and EU sizes?▾
US men's 9 is UK 8, EU 42 to 42.5 depending on the brand, Korean 270 mm and Japanese 27 cm. Adidas uses EU 42.7 for US 9; Nike uses EU 42.5.
How do I convert my foot length to a US size?▾
Take foot length in mm, add about 8 mm, then use the mm column. A 262 mm foot plus 8 mm is 270 mm, which is US men's 9. Each US half size equals roughly 4.2 mm.
Are men's and women's US sizes the same scale?▾
No. Women's US sizes run about 1.5 numbers higher for the same foot: a men's 8 is a women's 9.5. Some brands use a 1-size offset, so check the brand page if the shoe is unisex.
Why does the same EU size fit differently across brands?▾
EU sizes are based on the Paris point (6.67 mm), but brands round to their own last. EU 43 can span 275 to 280 mm. Ordering by mm where the brand publishes it is more reliable than by EU number.
