Ring Size Chart and Converter
Ring sizes are all derived from the inner diameter or circumference of the band, so conversion is exact once you know the millimetres. US sizes step by about 0.8 mm of diameter (size 7 is 17.3 mm), UK sizes use letters from A to Z in half steps (N is 17.1 mm), EU and ISO sizes are simply the circumference in millimetres (54 is 54 mm around), and Japan numbers sizes 1 to 27 with size 13 at 17.1 mm diameter.
To measure, wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark the overlap and measure the length in mm for circumference, or measure the inner diameter of a ring that already fits. Fingers swell in heat and after exercise, so measure at room temperature in the afternoon. Bands wider than 6 mm feel tighter; choose a quarter to half size up. Knuckle size matters too: if the knuckle is much larger than the base, pick a size that just passes over it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a US ring size 7 in UK, EU and Japanese sizes?▾
US 7 has an inner diameter of 17.3 mm and circumference 54.4 mm. That is UK N to N.5, EU/ISO 54, French 54, Japanese 13 to 14. US 6 is 16.5 mm (UK L.5, EU 52); US 8 is 18.1 mm (UK P.5, EU 57).
How do I measure my ring size without a ring sizer?▾
Wrap paper or thread around the finger base, mark where it overlaps, and measure that length: it is your circumference in mm, which equals your EU size. 54 mm is US 7, 57 mm is US 8, 60 mm is US 9. Repeat three times and average.
How much does a half size change the fit?▾
A half US size is about 0.4 mm of diameter or 1.3 mm of circumference. It is noticeable: a ring one half size too small often will not pass the knuckle. Most jewellers can resize by up to two sizes.
Should a wide band be sized differently?▾
Yes. Bands 6 mm or wider cover more finger and feel snug; go up a quarter to half size. Thin bands under 2 mm can be ordered at your exact measured size.
