Check the width code on the box (D/2E/4E for men, B/D for women). Same US size in 2E is noticeably roomier.
Men's to women's is +1.5 (M 8 = W 9.5).
Made in USA/UK lines (990, 991, 1500) tend to fit larger than the standard 574/530; consider half down.
